Ember of Vallen
★★★★★ 4.7
Ember of Vallen is the kind of RPG I wish there were more of on phones — turn-based, patient, and designed to be paused the second your stop comes up. You guide a small party through a fading kingdom, and the writing has real personality without drowning you in menus.
Combat is classic grid turns, but the twist is a stamina system that forces you to plan a few turns ahead. I found myself genuinely thinking before each move by the mid-game bosses. Everything saves locally and the whole adventure ran without a hint of internet.
It's not a hundred-hour epic, and that's a feature here. The main story wraps up in about ten hours, with optional side quests if you want more. Perfect for a long trip.
